Cupcake In a Jar

I'm starting to brainstorm for Big Boy and Baby Girl's joint birthday party and while browsing through Pinterest I came across the idea of cupcake in a jar! What a great idea!

 

 

I love mason jars, they are so cheap and versatile. I'm thinking for kids' birthday I would instead prepackage an ice cream sundae!

Green

My house is neutral. It's not that I don't love color, it's just that I love color too much and I just know that if I decorated with color I'd be fickle and would want to try a different color. Today I was inspired by green; I think part of me is sick of winter already and now that the holiday season is over there isn't much for me to love about winter.

Norman Bel Geddes Style Vintage School Desk, Part II!

was sold for $675 by Factory20.

I was able to find a refinshed desk for $40. While scouring the local CraigsList for a matching pair for Baby Girl, I found an original desk selling for $20 in Beech Creek, PA and one for $50 at Nixa, MO. So if you are looking to own a vintage school desk that needs some TLC, head over there!

Big Boy is into LEGO now. Yeap, and they are all over the place. We have an extra play table in the house so I'm thinking of turning that into a LEGO table, but I needed an inspiration so I looked around for photos and here are some really good ones:

Sewing Machine Table

 

Isn't this pretty? I'm not keen on the basket weave thing on the drawers, but I love the simple line and the color. I've actually been looking for a used sewing machine table for awhile, but they all seem outdated and drabby, but this works! I don't know why I haven't thought to refinish them before.

I checked the local Craigslist this morning and there's a decent one on sale for $30. I'm not a huge fan of curves on furniture though...

Debating whether to talk to Dubya about it; I just bought myself a buffet yesterday so he might be unreceptive towards the purchase...

Maricor/Maricar's Impressive Embroidery

 

How gorgeous is this?! Apparently it's a work of maricor/maricar, twin sisters from Australia. Land of Nod discusses the creative process of getting this beautiful work made. 

This makes me want to try something like this myself! Hmm... maybe kids name on a t-shirt? A quilt? Cushion? Messenger bag? Excited!!!
